Kölle Alaaf! Kamelle! Kamelle! Alaaf!

In this last week of my sister and nephews staying, we went to Köln to celebrate Karneval two times, on Sunday to see the Schull- un Veedelszög (School and Associations) parade and again on Monday to see the main Rosenmontagszug parade, and a third visit to Köln to see the Queen “We Will Rock You” musical which we saw on Tuesday evening.

The Queen musical was awesome! But 3 hours of high rocking decibels was unfortunately not enough to conquor out the two days worth of Karneval music I am still hearing in my head at night

There was an estimate of 200,000 on-lookers on Sunday for the Schull- un Veedelszög parade, and an estimate of 1.4 Million on Monday for the Rosenmontagszug parade.

The parades were 6.5 kilometers long, and on Monday a total of 140 Tonnes of sweets were thrown out to the audience!

Here we are dressed up in our costumes:

I attached a roll of toilet paper to my ordinary bear costume to become the Charmin bear - which sparked fantastic reactions from others My sister was dressed up as a devil, and my nephew as a wizard. Me and my sister dressed the same for both days, with my nephew being dressed as a wizard on Sunday and as a clown on Monday.

Children up front and the adults behind. It was hard to tell who wanted more sweets and candy though

Supermodel Heidi Klum and Seal were present on Monday - I was hoping to get a better shot but they were on the other side

The Smurfs were present

All of the sweets and candy my nephew collected - the photo doesn’t do it justice though as it doesn’t look like there is much, which there is!

This is (unfortunately) the last week of my sister and nephews staying - meaning my holiday is coming to an end and will be coming back into full action next week to concentrate on the project again.

The last two months was a well deserved break I needed from the project, and am looking forward getting back right into the action!
